Overview
LOTTARIO is a weekly OLG lottery drawn on Saturday nights and sold only in Ontario; it is not available through Loto-Québec. Its 45-number grid is smaller than a 6/49 game, so the jackpot is less unlikely to be won, but it also starts lower.
The jackpot starts at $250,000 and grows until someone wins it. Every ticket bought before the end of Friday also enters the Early Bird draw, which splits $50,000 among its winners. As with any lottery, the outcome is purely down to chance.
Rules and how it works
- A $1 play includes 2 selections of 6 numbers from 1 to 45.
- In the main draw, all 6 numbers on one line win the jackpot; lower prizes pay for 3 to 5 matches, and the bonus number alone wins a free play.
- The Early Bird draw, also on Saturday, has 4 numbers: matching all of them on one line wins a share of $50,000.
- To enter the Early Bird draw, the ticket must be bought before 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday.
- ENCORE can be added for $1 more.
Minimum age
In Québec, buying lottery tickets and taking part in games of chance is restricted to people 18 and over.
