Multi-table tournaments

Overview

In a multi-table tournament (MTT), every entrant pays the same buy-in and starts with the same number of chips. The tournament starts at the scheduled time, and tables are merged as players are eliminated until the final table.

Unlike cash games, the blinds go up at regular intervals. There are many formats: rebuys and add-ons, guaranteed prize pools, freerolls, bounty, super turbo or deep stack.

Rules and how it works

• Register in advance; the tournament starts at the scheduled date and time.
• Same buy-in and starting stack for everyone.
• Blinds increase as the tournament goes on.
• Remaining players are consolidated down to a nine-player final table.
• The tournament ends when one player has won all the chips.

Minimum age

In Québec, buying lottery tickets and taking part in games of chance is restricted to people 18 and over.
